BGSU's MAcc program features three tracks -

- Accounting and Auditing
- Information Systems Auditing and Control (ISAC)
- U.S. Federal Income Taxation

The Accounting and Auditing track is designed for individuals who plan a career in public accounting, or private industry. It emphasizes the international aspects of business and provides a foundation for information systems auditing, the two public accounting areas on the "fast track" for current and future growth. The Accounting and Auditing core courses are:

  • ACCT 622  Contemporary Financial Accounting Issues
  • ACCT 654  Business Assurance Services
  • ACCT 655  Advanced Information Systems for Accountants

The Information Systems Auditing and Control (ISAC) track is designed for those interested in information systems auditing and control, systems security, computer audit services consulting or computer consulting careers. It also is an excellent choice for students seeking an auditing career because it provides the information technology background required to service many clients. It offers graduates the skill-based knowledge necessary to launch a career that bridges the gap between technology and accounting, an area experiencing explosive job growth! The Information Systems Auditing and Control core courses are:

  • ACCT 556   Information Systems Auditing and Control
  • MBA 521    Business Data Communications
  • MBA 571    Business Systems Analysis
  • MBA 580    Information Technology Security

The U.S. Federal Income Taxation track is designed for those who plan a career in taxation. MAcc graduates are prepared for a satisfying career in one of the field's traditional high demand specialities. The Taxation Core courses are:

  • ACCT 544  Estate Planning
  • ACCT 643  Federal Taxation and Management Decisions
  • ACCT 645  Taxation of Partnerships / Flow-Through Entities
