The
primary responsibility of the faculty of the Department
of Legal Studies as educators is to stimulate our
students to become life long learners. As part of
this process, we believe it is essential to develop
our students’ abilities to engage in critical thinking,
to analyze personal and business situations using
legal and ethical paradigms, and to view the world
from a multi-cultural and international perspective.
The mission of the Department of Legal Studies is
to educate students and professionals in the fields
of law and health care administration in support
of the academic mission and programs of the College
and University.
We
are committed to full achievement of our mission:
- By
designing and delivering academic programs in business
communications and legal studies that develop the
skills, knowledge, values, and attitudes necessary
for successful leadership in business, in law,
and in society.
- By
challenging accepted beliefs, and by seeking and
sharing knowledge and ideas that promote excellence
in organizations and in society.
- By
rendering meaningful service to academic, professional,
and profit and nonprofit organizations as well
as to the College, University, and community.
- By
engaging in quality research pertaining to business
communication and how the legal system affects
business organizations, nonprofit entities, and
society.
- By
continuing to establish specific objectives, which
will measure our progress and our shortcomings.
We will continuously strive to maintain our leadership
in legal studies education through continuing excellence
in teaching, research, and service.
