Hospitality
Management is a specialization in
the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
The
goal of the program is to prepare students to apply
business principles in the hotel/motel management and
food service and restaurant segments of the hospitality
industry. In addition to BSBA core courses, Hospitality
Management students take advanced courses in the nature
and functioning of the hospitality industry, as well
as courses dealing with the unique management, marketing,
legal, financial and human resource aspects of the
industry. Courses relating to the fundamentals of food
service operations are also required to expose students
to a major aspect of the industry. Students are required
to complete 800 or more clock hours of approved, professional
work experience in the hospitality industry which is
fulfilled through a combination of full- and part-time
practicum assignments on and off campus.
