First Assignment: (due
August 15) 1. What are the three dimensions of
projects that influence project risk from Chapter 10? (5 points) 2. Which of the nine key themes in
the Introduction are you most interested in learning about, which seem to be the
most important to you? (15 points) 3. Write a three paragraph analysis that applies one of the models from the textbook to any of the cases assigned. Five cases are available to choose from (see class schedule, they are written in orange). Models are the significant ideas or concepts in the textbook chapters. For example, I can apply the Value Chain model (Fig 1-3 on p 30) to the Internet Securities Case (p 342) and write about how Internet Securities is competing using the Value Chain as an analysis tool. Do not be concerned about your selection of model, there are probably at least 100 that would work well. During our two weeks, you will present a case, and will apply models to that case, so this is a head start for that assignment. If you have concerns such as "Is this a model?", or "Is this what you mean?" please email me. (30 points)
