The College of Business Administration and BGSU offer
many resources to help students achieve learning success
and to select career and specialization paths. Resources
include labs, tutoring, and special programs for learning
and career information.
Labs
Math
and Stats Tutoring Center : 208 Moseley Hall, (419) 372-8009
The Math Lab is a valuable place for students to spend time outside the classroom
mastering the content of a mathematics or statistics course. The Math Lab provides
tutoring labs and self-help materials, such as videos, practice tests, and
additional textbooks. Students may work with other students in the same course
or seek individual assistance from a qualified tutor. Tutoring labs are available
in algebra, precalculus, calculus, statistics, and operations research courses.
Study
Skills Center : 213 Moseley Hall, (419) 372-8840
The Study Skills Lab provides a variety of services such as individualized
assessment, individual or small group instruction to improve specific study
skills, and workshops on study skills like note-taking, textbook reading and
time management. A mentor program is also offered for groups of students to
learn about meeting with a student mentor who is qualified to assist students
in learning how to learn material for large lecture classes. Some
of the mentor sessions available are in science courses, history, philosophy,
sociology, and Spanish.
Writing
Center: 303 Moseley Hall, (419) 372-2221
The Writers Lab is an effective resource for students at all levels of writing
proficiency and at any stage in the writing process. Tutors, who are carefully
selected undergraduate and graduate students, help with the identification
and development of a topic, organization of the paper and theme, sentence structure,
and mechanics. On-line and email assistance is available, and appointments
with tutors are recommended.
Tutoring
Accounting and Management Information Systems
Beta Alpha Psi, a student organization consisting of accounting and MIS students,
provides free tutoring for ACCT 221 and 222. In addition, the AMIS Department
has a list of students who are available for tutoring for a variety of different
accounting and MIS courses. See the AMIS Department in 332 BA for more information.
Applied Statistics and Operations Research
The Department of Applied Statistics and Operations Research assigns graduate
assistants to the Math Lab in order to provide tutoring for STAT 211, STAT
212, and OR 380. Contact the Math Lab (216 University Hall, 372-8009) or the
Applied Statistics and Operations Research Department (344 BA, 372-2363) for
the current tutoring schedule.
Economics
The Economics Department offers tutoring for students in ECON 202 and 203.
Visit the Economics Department in 3002 BAA for information about how to take
advantage of this service.
Finance
Financial Management Society (FMS), a student organization, offers tutoring
every semester for students in FIN 300. Check with the Finance Department in
201 BA for further information.
Other Department and Instructor Assistance
Departments and programs across campus, such as History, Sociology and Biology
may provide additional tutoring services and/or referrals. You should contact
the appropriate departments and instructors for available tutoring services.
Special Programs and Centers
Career Center: 360 Saddlemire Student Services Building
Career Services offers both career counseling and job placement assistance.
For career counseling, the staff provides personal help in career choices and
is an excellent source for general educational-vocational guidance. For job
placement assistance, the staff provides information about projected job openings,
preparation necessary for various jobs, and employment opportunities. Services
are available for freshmen through graduating seniors, graduate students, and
alumni.
A particular program of Career Services is BGSUs Cooperation
Education and Internship Programs that provides student-employer connections
for career-oriented co-ops and internships. This office also provides connections
for student exchanges with other U.S. universities and colleges.
Career and cooperative education information is also available in the College
Office and through faculty advisors and departments.
Center
for Multicultural & Academic Initiatives: 424 Saddlemire,

Contained within the Center for Multicultural & Academic Initiatives, Student
Support Services is an academic support program that promotes academic
success. The program offers academic advising and career and financial aid
counseling. Tutorial assistance is also available. To participate in this program,
students must meet specific eligibility requirements. For more information,
contact Student Support Services.
Counseling
Center: 320 Saddlemire, (419) 372-2081
The Counseling Center provides confidential assistance for a variety of personal
problems and issues. In addition, the counselors at the Center hold workshops
on numerous topics like coping with grief and building self-esteem. Center
hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Students are seen by
appointment except for emergencies.
Disability

The Disability Resources Office assists in conquering obstacles that persons
with disabilities may encounter and offers accommodations to students based
on documented disabilities. Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.,
and appointments are recommended.
