Three Statistics Electives (at least two at the 600+ level) - one from offerings in the Department of Applied Statistics and Operations Research, one from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, and the third one from either department.
Six graduate credits in an approved cognate area. These are non-statistics courses taken in an area which supports graduate study in statistics (e.g., mathematics or computer science), or in an area where statistics can be applied (e.g., operations research, biology, economics, business administration, sociology, or psychology).
Students are reminded that elective and cognate courses must be chosen such that the courses included in the degree include a minimum of 18 hours at the 600 level or above. MATH 641, MATH 642 AND STAT 675 (required courses) already provide 9 hours toward this requirement. |
